What were German people thinking during WWII?

I don't know exactly how they were feeling, but I do know that they were probably very frightened. If you spoke out against Hitler and the wrong person heard, it could mean your life. My Oma grew up in Germany and I know she didn't agree with what was happening and she certainly wasn't indifferent. There just wasn't much she herself could do. It was a difficult and scary time.
