Can i ber in more than once school at a university?

im picking out colleges and i noticed that lest say its HOPE COLLEGE right? it will have divisions like english and communications and stuff like that....so it will ber hope college, school of english, hope college school of communications or w/e. can i be in two? cause 1 school has majors/minors i would take but they r in 2 departments. can i be in both or do i have to be in one type of school?
