Unmanageable straight hair?

i have straight hair. But its unmanageable. Every day i have to apply wax or gel if i head out of house. If not,my hair would be everywhere and its really ugly. I don't wish to continue this kind of life anymore. Sometimes i envy people who can walk on the streets with their hair nicely in place naturally. I been living like that for 9 years already and i want to solve this now. Dandruff also comes and go in my hair.
