I have lost the hardware cd to my JVC GZ-MS230 Camcorder.?

I have lost the hardware cd to my JVC GZ-MS230 Camcorder. How do i convert the files from MOD to MPG? I have windows 7 and i am having a VERY hard time finding anything on how to do this. People are saying to just rename the file but how is that done??? Any help would be great!! Thank you in advance :)
